Work in Progress: Mod Sampler

Thanks to a rainy, lazy Sunday I made a TON of progress on my "Mod Sampler" quilt. I am following Oh, Fransson's quilt-along, which is full of incredible information, tips, and helpful hints.

I am SO thrilled with the way the blocks are looking. And... I haven't even started sewing anything yet! Just cutting... but only two sets to go! I just really like laying them out and looking at them!

Here are a few more pictures:

Green and pink are my fav so far.

Also, I had to share this picture of my spring cactus in FULL bloom. So pretty.

new bloggenings!

welcome to my blog - a space i hope to fill with the beautiful things that inspire me and the things i create.

when i imagine looking back though the archives in one year, i think i'll see a few posts on knitting, a few posts gloating over a delicious meal, a handful of stories of homebrewing adventures, possibly posts on learning to make cheeses (the subject continues to come up), but mostly my ramblings here will be about sewing endeavors.

to date i have officially sewn the following items:

1. green pajama/clown pants [in community ed sewing class]
2. polka-dot wrap skirt with lining, slightly tweaked from
3. green canvas grocery tote using this pattern from Sew Mama Sew.
4. halloween quilt using moda "pumkins gone wild" charm packs

hmm. it is kind of a piddily list. i have many grandiose plans for things i want to sew.... or things i have promised to sew... or things i have all the material to sew...

better get started!
